As I sit here on my porch sooo many blessings flood my thoughts and eyes. As I SEE and HEAR all the work being done here at Barbour Farms I’m overwhelmed with thankfulness.

From thistles being hand clipped, weed wacking, brush hogging, and weeding by hand ALL are pieces of the puzzle to keep our farm up and running, our animals safe and healthy, and the land we are blessed with bountiful.

There are so many exciting changes that have come and are coming, let me break it down for you.

*Our Garden (5 acres) is flourishing under the care of our Laura Grace! We are serving over 30 families with CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) packages each week. We have 18-20 volunteers that come and help in the garden each week.

*Meet our “Garden Buddies”, JOLIKIA & SUGAR!! We brought these 2 adorable babies home last week. They will grow and thrive under the watchful care of Our Laura!

*Our American Aberdeen family continues to grow- – -Reese just celebrated her first birthday on July 19 (check out our blog “Raising Reese” for Reese’s new friends and our newest babies) Sadie and Bravo (our bull) had their first calf and the VERY FIRST of Bravo to be born here at Barbour Farms!

*We are very excited to be adding milking to our farm. It continues to amaze me how God has brought us full circle- – – and gone above and beyond! We were a dairy farm 42 years ago and now we will be adding 4-6 (A2A2) milking cows more about that in a future blog.

*Then there are PIGS! Who doesn’t like BACON?!!! What began as 10 pigs to raise and sell is now 53!! We will be adding pork to our line of meat products. As with the beef we will be having pork available year around. So if you want to fill your freezer with organic meat or wish to purchase packages please let us know.

*A final update to fill you in on is our GLAMPING site. In this crazy environment we all find ourselves we wanted to create a SAFE, GETAWAY HAVEN reminiscent of the old days with modern conveniences. A NEW version of our OLD memories! So come relax, refresh, recharge and reminisce! Just go to the link here on our site for CAMPING!

So until next time remember to be intentional about loving each other!

Blessings,
Kim
