Hello dear friends,

As the saying goes, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” we have missed connecting with you all! After much prayer and research we have upgraded our website so we will be able to be more interactive with you our friends of Barbour Farms. To catch up all our new friends who have never read our blogs or visited our website before this let me introduce us and welcome you to Barbour Blessings! We are Jim and Kim Barbour, owners and operators of a third generation family farm. We began as a dairy farm back in the 1940’s when Grandpa Barbour moved from Patterson New Jersey to Pennsylvania and bought this farm. Jim and I married in 1979 and joined the working dairy. We planned to raise our family here and grow old right here in the Barbour Farms hills! God had another plan, asking us to leave the farm we loved and go into full time ministry. Willing to give it all up to serve our Lord, we spent 27 years in ministry only to be drawn back to the farm in 2009! How very good God is, bringing us full circle! Now we get to do both our passions, serving the Lord and stewarding His land! We’ll share more of our personal story in upcoming blogs, so stay tuned and keep following us and sharing our website and pages with all your family and friends!

With that said, there are so many exciting things happening here on the farm. We had a garden this year and grew, onions, sweet potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, spaghetti squash, butternut squash, and pumpkins, big, small, and in between. We have an amazing “field manager” who has done such an awesome job with the garden. We plan to have another garden next year, but more about that in the future! We have a high tunnel that now grows berries, strawberries, black berries, raspberries, blueberries and rhubarb- – -more to come about that in future blogs!

With a chill in the air we are preparing to sell our fall crops, pumpkins, corn stalks, & hay bales. When you come pick up your fall decorating needs you’ll enjoy a cookie/brownie with a cup of hot or cold cider- – -really gets ya in the spirit of fall! Another exciting feature we will have is “Cuddling A Calf” for those of you who visited us at the Harford Fair you met our sweet little Reese! She was born here at Barbour Farms on July 19, 2019, she and her mama Grace will be out and available for cuddles and pictures when you pick up your pumpkins, corn stalks and hay bales!

There are so many exciting things happening here at Barbour Farms and we can’t wait to get you all up to speed on everything. We have AMAZING American Aberdeen Beef Cattle here, Grace & Reese, are two of them. I’ll let Reese bring you up to speed on all that’s happening in her cattle family! Be sure to follow “Raising Reese” on Facebook and read her very own blog on here.

I would now like to share with you our missions statement, our core values and our vision!

We are a farm that raises grass fed American Aberdeen Beef and organic/sustainable veggies. We have a greenhouse where we begin plants and a high tunnel that houses our fruits. We strive to always be faithful stewards of all God has blessed us with. We both wholesale and retail our pumpkins and veggies. We plan to retail our grass fed beef to our local community, friends and family. We strive here at Barbour Farms to create a family environment where anyone who comes feels loved and accepted. Our integrity, honesty, service, and quality are of most importance to us. We are unique in that we are striving to create a “community farm” feeling that helps those who cannot raise their own gardens for any number of reasons, living in town, no financial ability, or physical ability.

We seek to be a blessing to all God sends our way  and to honor Him in ALL we do.

We want Barbour Farms to be a place visitors want to call HOME

H- – -healthy/safe

O- – -optimistic

M- – -mentoring

E- – -encouraging
